Sex at birth sets the direction the ten-year luck pillars run — it's a rule inside the Four Pillars method, not a judgement. Skip it and they run forward by default. No time of birth? Leave it at noon — but be aware a one-hour error moves the rising sign, the hour pillar and the whole 紫微 palace layout about half the time.
